Frequently asked questions about
Koff & Kold™ Herbal Cough Syrups

What if my child has a persistent cough?

There are many things that can cause a persistent cough, such as colds, flu, bronchitis or asthma. Most coughs will stop when the cause, such as a cold, goes away. If your child has a persistent cough that lasts longer than a week, we suggest you contact your pediatrician or other healthcare professional.

Why do you use buckwheat honey in Koff & Kold Cough Syrups?

Buckwheat honey is a dark honey that is produced by bees from the nectar of the buckwheat flower. Interestingly, the buckwheat plant is neither a grain nor from wheat, but from a plant with small white flowers related to the rhubarb plant. It has a rich, molasses-like flavour, is high in antioxidants, has antibacterial properties, and has been shown to help soothe coughs. That made it the right choice for our cough syrups.

Are there any sedatives in Koff & Kold Night time Cough Syrup?

No – there are absolutely no sedatives in our night-time formula. Koff & Kold Night time Cough Syrup is formulated with Chamomile, traditionally used to help calm and promote restful sleep. Children’s coughs are often worse at night because when they are lying down, the congestion in their little noses and sinuses run down their throat, causing irritation. Koff & Kold Night time Cough Syrup is formulated for relief of coughs and colds and to promote a more restful sleep.

Can I give Koff & Kold Night time Cough Syrup during the day?

Yes, while it is perfectly acceptable for you to give your child Koff & Kold Night time Cough Syrup during the day, keep in mind that this formula was designed to help your child relax and fall asleep. Before going to bed or taking a nap is the ideal time to take this medication. Always follow package directions and do not administer more than the recommended dose.
