KOLIKⓇ Gripe Water was specifically designed to provide fast-acting, all-natural relief for infants and babies suffering from colic. Formulated with anti-gas and stomach calming properties, including fennel and ginger, KOLIK Gripe Water is based on a natural old-time English remedy that has given children and infants safe, effective and fast gas and colic relief for over a century.

When babies suffer from digestive discomforts, such as cramps, gas, upset stomach, and hiccups, it can be frustrating for everyone involved – the parents who don’t understand why their baby is being fussy or how to soothe them, and the baby who doesn’t yet know how to communicate their discomfort and pain.

Original Formula
Medicinal ingredients

Each 15 mL (one tablespoon) contains:

  • Zingiber officinale, Ginger Tincture (root) 0.05 mL
  • Anethum graveolens, Dill Oil (stalk, seed, leaves) 0.002 ml
  • Sodium Bicarbonate (mineral) 50 mg
  • Ethyl Alcohol 95 % (plant) 0.1945 ml (3.89 % v/v)
Non-medicinal ingredients
  • Polysorbate 80
  • Sucrose
  • Water
Note on preservatives: Preservatives are used to ensure that the product does not contain microbial contaminants (like salmonella or eColi) during the manufacturing or packaging process. Those contaminants can result in the spoilage of the formula by breaking down medicinal and non-medicinal ingredients, affecting the potency, stability and efficacy of the product.

How to use KOLIK Gripe Water

Shake well before using. To be taken orally only. May be taken up to 4 times in a 24-hour period. Measurements by age included below:

Frequently asked questions about KOLIK® Gripe Water

Can I add KOLIK Gripe Water to my baby’s formula/bottle when feeding?

We do not recommend adding KOLIK Gripe Water to the baby’s formula, as they may not finish their bottle and get the recommended dose of the product. This can reduce its effectiveness. Try administering it using a syringe against the baby’s cheek or maybe try using a small plastic measuring cup for medications.

 

Why is there alcohol in the original formula?

A very small amount of alcohol is in our original formula as it is needed to extract the essential oil from the herbal ingredients, and it acts as a natural preservative. Preservatives are necessary in medicines like this, as they prevent microbial contamination (for example, bacteria that can be harmful).

The amount of alcohol in the original formula is perfectly safe, however, we know that many parents prefer an alcohol-free formula, which is why we developed the first alcohol-free KOLIK Gripe Water for babies with the same effective herbal ingredients and Health Canada-approved preservatives.

 

Is the glycerin used in the product from an animal or vegetable source?

The glycerin used in KOLIK Gripe Water is from a vegetable source and does not contain any soy or corn derivatives.

 

My bottle of KOLIK Gripe Water expired last month. Can I still use the product?

We do not recommend using KOLIK Gripe Water if it has expired. The expiration date indicates the point in time when the product is no longer within acceptable specifications for the potency and stability of ingredients. We always recommend checking the expiry date before giving the formula to a baby.

 

How long after opening should the product be discarded?

As a general rule of thumb, because contamination can happen we suggest discarding 3 months after opening KOLIK Original Gripe Water and 6 months for KOLIK Alcohol-Free Gripe Water.
